Kite Surfing in Fuerteventura is probably the most prominent water sport in the months from March to November, thanks to its positioning right in the path of trade winds.
It’s also possible to get some lucky days for kite surfing in the winter months. And the best – there is many spots & we gonna head out by boat once you had your first touchpoints with the Kite.
Flag beach
This is located just outside of Corralejo, this is the main spot for kitesurfing in the island. A stretch of 7 kilometers, it’s a spacious sandy beach, half of which is marked off for kitesurfing. Ideal wind blows 15-20 knots side shore, across the beach, which makes it perfect for beginners.
You can also go on kite cruises from here and explore the islands Los Lobos and Lanzarote.
El Cotillo
This stunning beach behind the cute fisherman village is located on the north west coast. The wind here is usually 3 – 5 knots stronger than Flag beach, meaning more favourable conditions for intermediate kite surfers. Since El Cotillo has long rolling waves, it’s more fun for the advance to also catch some waves while cruising down the waters.
Majanicho
This is one of the best point breaks of the island, that has huge winter waves measuring upto 3 meters. Located on the northshore, kitesurfing here is for the more advanced.
The other neighbouring spots for real wave riders are Punta Blanca, El Hierro, La Caleta, and Mejillones.
